Augusta Tech uses Blackboard Learn for all online classes. To ensure that everyone is comfortable with accessing and using Blackboard, Badge Training is a tutorial and assessment students are required to take before registering for an online class.

Everyone who wants to take an online and blended course at Augusta Technical College.
A Badge is a virtual certificate of completion that a student earns by completing Badge Training. Badge Training is a series of online lessons which a student must complete to be eligible to enroll in online classes at Augusta Tech.
After you log into Blackboard with your student email and password, click on Badge under Organizations and self-enroll. If this is your first time signing in, you may need to set up your Okta account.The training course is free of charge. Watch this video demonstration of how to enroll in Badge Training.
Now! Badge Training is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with the exception of brief downtimes for maintenance.
No. The Badge is valid for 5 years.
Badge Training is an initiative by Augusta Tech to maintain our accreditation. The goal of Badge Training is to ensure students’ familiarity and comfort with the environment of an online class. The training will result in an increased rate of student success in online classes.
Yes. All students will need to take Badge.
Yes. All students who plan to take online classes at Augusta Technical College are required to have a Badge.
About 2-3 hours. It can be saved and resumed as many times as necessary over a two week period.
Yes. Badge Training can be re-taken as many times as needed. Each test can be re-taken as many times as necessary within a two week period. Students who do not complete the Badge within 2 weeks will need to begin at the first unit again. Students who do not log in to the site will need to re-register for the training.
Wait one business day; then, register for your online classes if registration has begun. Students do not have to present the Badge to anyone. The Distance Education office will track and record Badges on a daily basis.
No. Badge Training completion is noted in a student’s record, but it is not a credit course and does not appear on the student’s transcript.
