The month of September is always “Family First” time for the employees of Augusta Tech. Beverly Peltier, Director of Institutional Advancement, launches a campaign for employees to give back to the college though the foundation. Employees can volunteer to donate by cash, check or payroll deduction in support of the foundation. This year, 178 employees pledged /donated over $ 26,000 and surpassed last year’s donations.
“We always like to thank those who support the foundation because I am a firm believer in the concept of TEAM and that means Together Everyone Achieves More”, said Peltier.
Peltier presented each college campus with an ice cream social and a presentation showing how the donations really help students in their education. The last ice cream social served as the end of the campaign and various prizes from business in the community were given out to all employees who donated. The big prize winners for this year were:
Carmen Matthews of General Education, Augusta campus, won two AirTran Airline tickets.
Elaine Keller of the Business Office, Augusta campus, won a Wing Party.
Betty Ann Manning from the Waynesboro campus won the Apple I-pod shuffle.
