Augusta Tech's SkillsUSA Students Win Awards
Augusta Tech’s SkillsUSA students traveled to Columbus to attend the GA State Conference and Skills Competition. Students competed in various programs like Advertising Design, Commercial Baking, Customer Service, Web Design, 3-D Animation etc.
Augusta Tech has MANY reasons to be proud of the students, now there are 21 more reasons. Out of the 30 students who participated this year; 21 brought home medals. Out of these 21; 12 won gold and will have the opportunity to represent Augusta Tech at the National Conference in Kansas City, MO this June.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled work force. The Skills USA program hosts local, state and national competition for students to showcase their skills learned through hands-on training in the classroom.

Augusta Technical College’s Skills USA team participated in the State Level Skills USA Competition and received 1st Place recognition for the Opening and Closing Ceremony, a ritual performed at every nationwide Skills USA state and local chapter. The team is comprised of welding students enrolled at the Waynesboro-Burke Campus of Augusta Technical College. They will compete for the National Skills USA Competition in Kansas City, Missouri June 20-24.
