The Grainger Foundation Supports Augusta Technical College Foundation

The Grainger Foundation has donated $5,000 to the Augusta Technical College Foundation to help the organization provide resources that will support Augusta Technical College in carrying out its mission of excellence in workforce education.
“The donation will help fund twenty book scholarships for students in the Industrial Technology programs of study,” said Terry Elam, President of Augusta Technical College. “We are seeing more students needing financial assistance and this will have an important impact on those who struggle to meet all the financial commitments of pursuing an education. We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity.”
The donation was recommended by Greg Clark, Branch Manager of W.W. Grainger, Inc.’s Augusta location. Grainger has been part of the Augusta business community for more than 22 years as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products.
The company has 14 locations across the state, including its Augusta location. “We are proud to recommend the programs offered by the Augusta Technical College Foundation,” said Clark. “We understand the need to build a skilled workforce in our community.”
The Grainger Foundation, an independent, private foundation based in Lake Forest, Illinois, was established in 1949 by William W. Grainger, founder of W.W. Grainger, Inc.
The Augusta Technical College Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation which was chartered in 1987. As an educational foundation affiliated with and serving only Augusta Technical College, the trustees seek to aid, strengthen, and further the mission, programs, and services offered by the institution to the residents of the five county service area which includes Richmond, Columbia, Burke, McDuffie, and Lincoln Counties.
