Culinary Instructor Eddie Walker Brings Art to Ice
Eddie Walker, Augusta Tech Culinary Instructor, was recently featured in SKIRT! Magazine. The monthly publication features a man who is active in the community adorning a skirt. Eddie chose to wear a kilt while creating an ice sculpture.

We've heard of woodworking shops but this was our first trip to an ice shop, where Eddie, a veteran chef, shapes blocks of crystal-clear ice into works of art. Eddie has the tools and the expertise to carve nearly anything from this chilly medium. He's also passing along skills to a new generation teaching culinary arts at Augusta Technical College. Ice is great, he says, because it can be a focal point while also serving a useful function. He likes the creativity and working with clients: "When people come to me for ice sculptures, they're including me in some of the most special times of their lives. I really take that to heart."
What do you like about wearing a skirt:?
"My first thought was free at last but while cutting ice, it was rather chilling."
