Culinary Art Students Support Child Enrichment and The Augusta Mini Theater Chef Events
Augusta Tech's Culinary Arts instructors, Chef Kathleen Fervan and Chef Eddie Walker, not only want their students to know the kitchen inside and out, but also how to support their community. Recently the students participated in two annual CSRA events.
Child Enrichment’s 16th annual Art of Chocolate was held at Savannah Rapids Pavilion. Proceeds benefit Child Enrichment, Child Advocacy Center and Court Appointed Special Advocates. The black-tie optional event features live entertainment, food and extravagant chocolate as well as other desserts created by some of the area's finest chefs. Augusta Technical College’s Culinary Arts program attended this annual event with chocolate treats created by the students. The students also prepared an ice carving as part of their display.
The Augusta Mini Theatre held its 10th annual Alumni and Friends Chefs Showcase in recognition of the art school’s anniversary. The event, held at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center, featured restaurants and caterers from the CSRA with proceeds going toward operating costs and scholarships for Augusta Mini Theater students. Augusta Technical College Culinary Arts students prepared tasty treats to display and serve.
