Culinary Art Students Rock the Pots and Pans for Pediatric Cancer
Augusta Tech's Culinary Art students were out in the community again, but this time now with any food. They took the pots, pans, and utensils from the kitchen to the brand new NBC Studios and set up and began to drum to their own made up rhythm.
No it wasn't in protest, it was in support of the 12 Bands of Christmas and NBC Meteorologist Jay Jefferies drum-a-thon. The 26 hour event was organized to raise funds to "beat pediatric cancer".
NBC invited the community to join in for this worthy cause and no matter what your choice of drum, everyone was welcome. Hence, the pots and pans from Culinary Arts. The students along with Chef Kathleen Fervan and friends joined the event, played for a couple of hours and even asked passers-by for donations.
Drummers from all over the CSRA joined in and raised over $2300.
