A Criminal Justice Symposium will be held on Tuesday, October 19, on the Waynesboro /Burke Campus of Augusta Technical College. Augusta Technical College’s Criminal Justice Department is sponsoring the free event from 8am to 3pm. The theme for this event is “Bringing the Community Closer to the Criminal Justice System; Earning Trust Without Conflicts: Round 1.”
This symposium brings together federal, state, and local law enforcement, juvenile and adult corrections, family and children’s services, local clergy, university professors, judges, and ex-offenders for a full day program on issues confronting the community and the criminal justice system.
A keynote address will be given by Garland R. Hunt, Esq., Commissioner of Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. Registration starts at 8am and the program begins at 9am. Peace officers are eligible for POST credits.
